Carson turns 6 tomorrow. SIX! It's kind of a big deal.
Since he gets to go camping with Joe and Grant tomorrow...we celebrated with his school class today.
There are THREE things I need to share with you about these cupcakes:
1. I don't care how hard I try...when it comes to frosting and food coloring...I will NEVER be able to make a deep deep red color. EVER. {And trust me...I've tried}. They either turn out orangey-red {as above} or pinkey-red. There's GOT to be a secret out there somewhere.
2. I love free printables. Which is why I {may have} squealed in delight when I came across these cute cupcake circles. You can print them out yourself HERE. {Plus...they don't just have cupcake toppers...there's a whole slew of stuff to print off for free!}
3. If you like cream cheese {and seriously....why wouldn't you??} then you must try this recipe:
Cream Cheese Cupcake Frosting:
2 {8 oz} packages of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
Mix the cream cheese and butter together. Add rest of ingredients and whip until desired consistency.
By the look on this face....{note the frosting on the chin}....I think the cupcakes were enjoyed!
Mission accomplished!
